5 Brand Experience Takeaways from SBC Summit Lisbon 2026

At a major industry event, every exhibitor is asking for a small part of someone's day. The challenge is giving them a compelling reason to spend it with you.

This week our team is in Lisbon for SBC Summit, working with BETBY and Sportradar. At SBC, the betting and gaming industry has an opportunity to turn digital propositions into personal encounters.

For exhibitors, that starts with a question: what should someone understand, feel or want to explore after spending time with your brand?

Drawing on our SBC experience, here are five takeaways for brands planning their next industry exhibit.

1. Make the reason to stop immediately clear

A stand can be visually striking and still leave visitors unsure what a business actually offers.

Strong exhibition design gives people a way into the conversation. A clear message, a recognisable customer challenge or a glimpse of the product in action can help visitors judge whether the stand is relevant to them.

Look at the space from the aisle. Can someone understand who you help and why they should come closer?

2. Give visitors something meaningful to do

An interaction earns its place when it helps someone understand your product or service.

For a payment business, that could mean walking through a transaction journey. For a platform provider, it could mean exploring how the system handles a familiar problem.

Give people a task, a choice or a question that connects directly to their work/pain point, then use their response to guide the conversation.

3. Design for different depths of conversation

Some visitors have two minutes between meetings. Others arrive ready to discuss a potential partnership.

An accessible demonstration area can support quick introductions, while a quieter meeting space gives conversations room to develop.

Consider the journey: where are visitors welcomed, where can they explore, and can they move easily into a conversation with staff ready to respond?

4. Treat hospitality as part of the experience

SBC's networking formats, business lounges and social experiences offer inspiration for how exhibitors can host visitors within their own space.

A comfortable seat, a thoughtful introduction or an attentive welcome can create the conditions for a productive meeting.

Each detail should support the kind of relationship your brand wants to build.

5. Make the next conversation easier

Plan what happens after the event while designing the experience itself.

If someone explores a particular feature, follow up with benefits. If they describe a business challenge, capture enough context to explain how your solution can help.

A badge scan alone tells you little about someone's interest, needs or intent.

Use the conversation to understand what they need and agree a relevant next step. That gives the connection a purpose beyond the event.

Your next exhibition starts with a clear purpose. What should visitors understand, experience and do next? Get in touch to explore how we can build an exhibition experience around those goals.
